Hello, and welcome to Shabby to Chics website!
A little bit about me, ever since I can remember I have had a big obsession over dogs. You could say I was probably one of those children that wanted to stroke every dog I saw in the street! Job wise I definitely wanted to work with dogs but I just wasn't sure which industry.
I studied public services for 3 years, coming away with a successful high grade qualifications; I wanted to be a dog handler in the public services. Until I started practising grooming on my own dogs, it’s fair to say they didn't look great but from that day on that was the career path I wanted to take.
In 2015 I studied Dog Grooming level 2 & went straight on to do my level 3 at Easton & Otley College in Norwich; dog grooming came very easy to me. A year later I then started completing my level 3 diploma, and in 2019 I had finally completed this making me a certified professionaly qualified dog groomer.
As well as my qualifications, I also hold a canine first aid certificate.
I regularly attend seminars outside of Norfolk to improve my knowledge and techniques in grooming, which I feel is important to keep up to date in the industry..
I have a few years experience in the competition world Located in various places outside of Norfolk, such as Coventry and Kent. I competed in my first competition in 2016, this was with a Miniature poodle, I then went on to compete with west highland terriers too. As a beginner the competitions were great to gain experience as well as feedback to improve on my grooming techniques. One of My favourite breeds to groom are poodles; I own two standard poodles and two poodle crosses, which I will be regularly competing with. I have also completed two intensive poodle training days with award winning groomers to improve my grooming techniques for competitions.
